Interference filter coated by sputtering system EOSS® at the Hannover Messe

Fraunhofer Group for Light and Surfaces /

The optimization and profitability of coating processes are becoming increasingly important in the industry. The specifications of spectral properties as well as lowest coating thickness deviations and tolerances at highest uniformity determine the optimization.

The innovative sputtering system EOSS® (Enhanced Optical Sputtering System), developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Film IST, enables highly complicated layer designs with extreme precision and uniformity of the coating, in addition to defect-free coatings and a high process reliability. Up to ten substrates with a diameter of 200 mm can be produced by the commercially available system.

At the Hannover Messe, the Fraunhofer IST presents an ultra-precise optical interference filter coated by EOSS®.
