Hannover Messe 2018

Flexible measuring technology for gases, liquids and solids

Fraunhofer Group for Light and Surfaces /

Gas sensors are employed for monitoring industrial processes, detecting leakages or regulating room climate. Sophisticated sensor technology guarantees reliable and precise measurements even under extreme conditions, be it in cars, in an industrial production environment or in the laboratory.

Integrating gas sensor technology and electronics into low-power and low-cost microsystems, is one of the main challenges faced by scientists. In this context, innovative sensor layouts, such as sensors based on flexible plastic foils made of polyimide, open up new markets and applications for gas sensor technology of the next generation. Sensors designed by Fraunhofer IPM are applied in context of Food Chain Management, in process monitoring or in the automotive or biotech industry.

Gas sensors of the Fraunhofer Institute for Physical Measurement Techniques IPM will be presented at Hannover Messe.
